full circle

i just realized i forgot my copy of orhan pamuk’s snow in my hotel room in istanbul a few weeks ago.

i had bought it from istanbul a year or so ago.

i have still not read snow.

i don’t know whether this is saying something about me, snow the book, orhan pamuk the author, istanbul the city, or some other altogether strange force at play.

an afterthought: when i was there, i found istanbul one of the most beautiful and pleasant cities i have evern been to. one of those places everyone needs to visit before you know when.

another afterthought:

‘in some awful, strange, paradoxical way, atheists tend to take religion more seriously than the practitioners.’
